With the CFS 2017 Grand Finals approaching, the groups for the Group Stage have to be set. Details regarding the Group Stage Draw are provided below.

Procedure
The Group Stage draw will take place in the following way.
The 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups A, B, and C, with 4 teams in each group. The draw order will follow as ‘A1 → B1 → C1 → A2 → B2 → C2…’ until all the teams are assigned into the 12 slots.
* Same region teams will not be allocated in the same group.
* As the second team from China has not been determined, it will be referred to as CN 2.
When all groups are fixed, the map draw will start. The 5 official maps for CFS tournaments are Mexico, Port, Ankara, Black Widow, and Sub Base. As the Group Stage consists of 5 matches, each match will be played in a different map.
