Interview with ReijN, leader of REDEYES Hawks

The playoffs of the WEST CFEL 2020 Season 1 is just around the corner as the 12th round of the regular season just concluded.
Before we head to prepare for the playoffs, we got a chance to interview ReijN, the leader of REDEYES Hawks. REDEYES Hawks is
currently spending their terrific season as they are ranked on the top standings with 9-3. Let’s hear from ReijN about himself and
REDEYES Hawks, and also their goal for 2020.

1. We’re extremely thrilled to interview you, ReijN. Please introduce yourself to the CROSSFIRE fans.

ReijN:
What’s up for those of you who don’t know me yet my name is Ricardo ‘ReijN’ Schugt. I'm from Germany and I’ve been competing
at the highest level of competitive Crossfire for several years.

2. Could you tell us a little about your first experience with CROSSFIRE? And what in particular motivated
you to seriously pursue a professional gaming career as a CROSSFIRE player?

ReijN:
I have always been a competitive mind. When I came across Crossfire and played it with some friends, I quickly realized that I am
quite good at the game. In terms of keeping my motivation high, my family, friends, and teammates are also a huge factor.

3. You were about two to three years inactive after participating in the CFS 2017 Grand Finals as a member
of FlipSid3 Tactics. Could you tell us how you spent your time during this period?

ReijN:
I spent like a year outside of the game finishing school and taking some time off the game. When I finished school, it took like a year
to get back to the top but seemingly we managed to get back there.

4. We believe there are CROSSFIRE fans who are not familiar with the REDEYES Hawks yet. Could you briefly
tell us how the team was built?

ReijN:
The team was built on a longer process, but on short notice. It was me, Terror and CRS who reached out to Jin and ChillZ to join us
and the rest will be history.

5. What is your role as a team leader? Could you tell us specifically? There are fans who are curious about it.

ReijN:
I'm more like leading outside the game taking care of our team and atmosphere. Jin is the one taking care of in game-related
things such as strategies.

6. Tell us about your team’s gameplay style.

ReijN:
We are trying to find a good mixture between set strategies and instinctual plays that’s most likely what worked for us so far.

7. How did REDEYES Hawks distribute the in-game roles of the players?

ReijN:
Jin is our in-game leader he takes care of all the stuff happening in the game. Terror and I take care of most part of the entry fragging.
CRS is the player who backs us up and tries to get the re-frags if needed. And last but not least there is ChillZ who is sniping for us.

8. It is almost certain for REDEYES Hawks to advance to the playoffs, as you are up to 9 wins and 3 losses. How is
your team currently performing so well? What kind of team chemistry/atmosphere does REDEYES Hawks have that
keeps you motivated?

ReijN:
We always try to improve and learn from our mistakes. Obviously, our motivation is winning and being the best team in Europe.
After that, we want to be the team representing Europe at CFS.

9. What are the aspects that REDEYES Hawks needs to be improved?

ReijN:
We need to be calmer in a certain situation but we are already working on that issue. But as time moves on there will be more stuff to be
improved. Because for now, we are playing on a quite basic but effective kind of style.

10. Even though there are extremely talented teams in the league, the European teams – GOLDEN V, ALL TALENTS,
REDEYES Hawks - are currently ranked at the top 3 standings. Is there any particular reason why the European teams
are so good? Please give us your thoughts from your point of view.

ReijN:
Europe has always been a powerhouse in FPS.

11. We would like to know your personal goal and what goal does REDEYES Hawks set for 2020.

ReijN:
My personal goal is to win CFS and that is what our goal as a team is.

12. Is there anything you’d like to say to the fans out there supporting REDEYES Hawks?

ReijN:
Of course! Thanks for supporting us. We will always keep on fighting for you.
