With CFPL (CROSSFIRE Pro League) maintaining its huge popularity in China, not only the players, but also the commentators have
been elevating their careers. Among the talented CFPL commentators, CFS HQ had a chance to interview Da JiaoJiao, who has been
involved in esports for a very long time, and who currently is the icon of CFPL and China CROSSFIRE as well. Let’s hear from her
interview how passionate she is in esports and how she became a representative commentator.

CFS HQ: Hello, Da JiaoJiao. It is such a pleasure to meet you. We want to send our appreciation for making your time today
for the paper interview with us! Before we start the interview, please briefly introduce yourself by telling your name, age,
residency, nickname, hobby, etc. to the worldwide CROSSFIRE users.

Da JiaoJiao: Hello, for those of you who love CROSSFIRE around the world! I am Da JiaoJiao, the official commentator of CROSSFIRE.
My real name is Wang DanDan, but better known as Da JiaoJiao, which is my nickname. I was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province,
China, in 1988. Now I live in Taicang, Jiangsu, China. I enjoy watching TV dramas, listening to the latest songs, and cooking meals.
But definitely, I love to play CROSSFIRE during my spare time.

CFS HQ: On which occupation were you involved before you became a representative commentator for CROSSFIRE?

Da JiaoJiao: I worked as an employee in a media company.

CFS HQ: Could you tell us a little about your background of how you first started CROSSFIRE? Did you enjoy playing CROSSFIRE
before becoming the official commentator?

Da JiaoJiao: The first time that I met with CROSSFIRE started way back in the days in 2008 when all of my friends around me began
to play after the first launch in China. I had a lot of boyfriends (male friends) back then who thought I would not fit into this new FPS
game because I was a girl.

Perhaps because of my nature, I snuck into the PC café alone to play CROSSFIRE and prove to my friends that I had guts and skills
than others, just like the CROSSFIRE slogan – Youth never admits defeat –

The first game I played in CROSSFIRE was the Team Deathmatch mode in Transport Ship, and then I tried the Ghost mode. I slowly
started to like CROSSFIRE after playing different game modes step by step. But soon, I fell in love with the game when I played S&D
mode in Desert-1 and Black Widow.

CFS HQ: Would there be a reason why you got to fall in love with CROSSFIRE? What kind of merit/strength does CROSSFIRE have?

Da JiaoJiao: CROSSFIRE wasn't the first game that I was involved in. However, as I liked competitive games and had talents for the
FPS genre, there were no other excuses that I couldn't instantly fall in love with CROSSFIRE from the very beginning of 2008.
CROSSFIRE provides fair games to players and leads them to create competitive spirits while playing various game modes. To take me
as an example, I especially enjoyed seeing myself getting more durable through my endeavor towards the game through different
game modes.

CFS HQ: We've heard that you created your CROSSFIRE team some years ago. Could you briefly tell us the background of how you
got to build a team and managed it?

Da JiaoJiao: For about 10 years I've played in on-offline teams as a player and organized a team myself and tried my very best to manage
it. Long ago, I always thought that men played much better than women in general. So I trained intensively by setting higher daily train
sessions so that my team could manage to win offline-based teams.

However, because our team could only earn the sponsorship from a pc café, the conditions weren't good enough for a ladies' team to focus
their practice. So I've started to find an offline-based team to play in a better condition in 2015.

But still, the ladies' teams were definitely less talented than the professional teams, and the fans' interest was more concentrated on the
players' beauty than their game-play skills. Despite the harsh circumstances, I still went on to become a high-class female player because I
had a great passion for CROSSFIRE, and started to find skilled female players to build a new team. But most of the female players that had
potential refused to join the team after hearing that they had to go on-stage for offline tournaments. I really had a hard time building a
ladies' team that I wanted.

Not long from now, I've prepared a ladies team with 4 other female players for CFHD, and we are still waiting for the game launch!
However, because of my current job and age, I don't seek a chance to advance to CFHD professional league.

CFS HQ: We believe there was a certain point for you that you came up with the decision to be an esports commentator. Could you
briefly tell us the background?

Da JiaoJiao: Before becoming a commentator, I was quite famous as a CROSSFIRE player even though I didn't get a chance to play in the
professional league, but in online tournaments and amateur leagues. But as the live broadcasting platform caught the public interest in
2014, I've started to try my own live broadcast from the same year in August. And after 2 months since the first broadcast, my esports
commentator career started as I took charge of commentating the CFDL inaugural season.

Ever since commentating CFDL and TGA, and earning the opportunity to interview CFPL Season 6 post-matches as a reporter, I've started
to understand what my job was and realize that I fell in love with it.

I've never imagined myself being a totally different person game after game besides as a CROSSFIRE player. I still remember that I couldn't
smile during my early commentator days. But now I've grown to crack jokes with my co-workers during the live broadcast, and I'm still
working hard to develop myself.

CFS HQ: What did you mostly prepare for being a professional commentator? What was the toughest part of your preparation?

Da JiaoJiao: I've never thought of myself being a person who works on-stage in front of the enormous spectators. To be honest, before
becoming a commentator, I was more interested in how the game was played and focused more on the game plays than listening to
the commentators. And commentators' work didn't seem to look that difficult.

However, after spending my early commentator days, I realized how hard it is to become a professional commentator. I had to
understand every player's information from their profiles and commentate appropriately at the exact game moment. So when I came
back home from work, I reviewed and reviewed every previous VODs of mine to analyze how I could do better. I've also analyzed the
best way to commentate the game from the retired players' live broadcast. But I've studied and learned game tactics on my own
because I thought the essential factor was to describe the situation with my words for the spectators' understandings. Later on, I've
even studied how other games' commentators spoke and how I could apply their commentating method to ours.

CFS HQ: As you are a professional commentator since 2014, what would be the major difference between CFPL Season 6 and
CFPL Season 16?

Da JiaoJiao: There are a lot of changes from CFPL Season 6 to CFPL Season 16. If I list some of the typical changes, it would be the
veteran players' retirement and their comeback, the newcomers' appearance, in-game tactics, and stabilized league regulations and
map pool. But from my perspective, the significant change between these two periods would be the players' mentality and their attitude
towards the game and their job, which is hard for the spectators to notice. Actually, some players live with the pressure that they must
perform well in every game, as the interest in the league increases yearly. And I believe this mental pressure is one of the main factors
that affect their game performances.

CFS HQ: How was CFPL Season 16 in overall? Please briefly give us your thoughts about this season by giving us the keywords.

Da JiaoJiao: As the regular season played throughout a double-round robin format, it was a season where we were able to find the
newcomers with potential and send players to the top organizations who have shown their best performances. At the same time, it was
a season that warned the veteran players that they could turn out to be replaced one day if they don't put their hard work towards the
game. Also, it was the first season in the domestic league to apply the shortened time of the fade-out screen when flashbanged behind
the players' screen that only functioned in the international CF tournament client. This significant change made Chinese teams connect
their tactics in domestic leagues and international tournaments and get used to it. So, I hope this change could give opportunities to
the Chinese teams to get good results in international tournaments.

I think the keywords for this season were persistence and explosiveness.
Players would have felt extremely fatigued because they had a lot of games to play with their 100% concentration during the regular
season and their team practice and scrimmage games. Therefore, I chose the word persistence as the keyword for this season because
maintaining the best shape would have been crucial for the players.

Also, since teams and players in CFPL know each other extremely well (playstyles and tactics), it was important for the players to have a
solid physicality so that they could blast their skills and overcome those issues. Therefore, I would like to use the world explosiveness for
the second keyword.

CFS HQ: Is there anything you expect from the next CFPL season in particular? If so, please tell us briefly about it.

Da JiaoJiao: It would be such a pleasure to see new teams reaching the finals in the next season. The darkhorse teams like LGD or
KingZone would be the candidates.

CFS HQ: What goals did you set as an official commentator? Could you share your goals with us?

Da JiaoJiao: My personal goal is not to set a specific goal. The reason is that I believe the person who works hard will not be too far away
from the person who catches up with you. As I am a hard worker myself, I will do my every best what I am willing to do.

CFS HQ: Thank you for taking your time today for the interview, Da JiaoJiao. Is there anything you want to say to your
Chinese/oversea fans?

Da JiaoJiao: I really appreciate your continuous support towards CROSSFIRE! As a huge and loyal fan of CROSSFIRE and CROSSFIRE
league for 12 years, I know it will be hard for me to get back to the mindset when I first started my career. But I will show you my every
endeavor towards the game, and you can definitely count on it! Let's go CROSSFIRE!

Once again we would like to thank Da JiaoJiao for her sincere interview.
