So Near, Yet So Far: Wattzking versus Pacific.Macta at CFS Philippine 2015 National Finals

The CrossFire Stars Philippine National Finals back in 2015 was not just about the rivalry between veteran side Pacific.Wara against erstwhile opponents Pacific.Macta or the rise of up-and-coming teams in the form of TNC Pro Team.
It is also includes heart-breaking moments and Wattzking versus Pacific.Macta is one of those moments: WattzKing has been known to be one of the most consistent CrossFire teams outside of the Manila region, even grabbing podium spots against big-name teams at big-ticket tournaments. They have won a spot at the National Finals by beating their regional opponents; however, none expected that they will be destroyed by Macta in such a fashion.
Unfortunately, the map for the semi-finals of the CFS Philippine 2015 National Finals would be Sub Base, which is a map which features quick rotations and flank timings as well as easy access to both sides. Macta likes to play an aggressive pickoff style as well as a quick flank strategy in order to create opportunities for the team, while Wattzking plays solid standard CrossFire.
It simply resulted in a bloodbath as Christian “REVENGE” Amores and Aldrin PAul “ALDRIN” Borabon just took all the kills for themselves, with both players getting double-digit frag numbers at the end of every half. Wattzking was able to answer once, but other than that. Macta just continued with their brute-force tactic of relying on aim duels in order to destroy their opponent.
The writing on the wall was clear as the map ended 10-1 in favor of Macta, thus allowing them to go to the Upper Bracket Finals. Meanwhile, Wattzking fell down to the Lower Bracket where they faced Wara on Black Widow...and lost 5-10, resulting in the Cebu-based team dropping out of the tournament.
It was not a good way to end a tournament, but it is at least hoped that Cebu’s pride have gotten good lessons from that.
