Macta and the Fall From Grace

Macta imploded when it mattered the most.
Nothing worked out for them. All of their tricks on their playbook did not work against the wild firepower that Remo Brave brought to the table.
With Matheus “
mAthsgz” Mattias cracking open the sites on Port and Ankara, as well as Joao “
JOW” Sousa picking off star sniper Christian “
REVENGE” Amores time and again, the Filipino squad seemed lost than ever, even with their dominating 10-6 win on Sub Base during the first day of the tournament.
Port: A Lost Cause
It goes without saying that the Brazilians ripped apart the Filipinos on Port. After all, Pacific.Macta always had a rougher time on this map in comparison to every other map on the CrossFire competitive pool.
However, the Brazilians were the better team on this map: From their pick-offs to their executes on site, the Filipino team simply did not have an answer to their
The writing on the board was for everyone to see.
The Second Pick: Ankara
Pacific.Macta bans Port outright whenever they get the chance to do so – however, in this case, the Brazilians get the first pick. In this case, they were able to choose Port, which was notoriously known as a weak map for the Filipino team, both locally and internationally.
However, Macta had the second pick. They could have picked a slightly better place than Ankara to mount their comeback.
Even with REVENGE’s double-digit efforts, including a strong retake in the 11
th round that allowed them to extend their tournament lives by a little bit, Macta was not able to do anything against the strong entry picks of the Brazilians.
A Ton of Aim Duels Lost

Losing aim duels certainly did not help the Filipinos as they went into the middle of each round with a one-man or two-man disadvantage. On the attacking side on Black List, it would not be a liability, as proven time and again by many teams at various levels of competition. However, on the defensive side on Global Risk, losing people early means being forced to push out early or play for the retake.
Home Crowd
To their credit, Macta tried their best even as they were slumping locally, dropping games to teams such as TNC and Wara and reeling from an upset loss during the CrossFire Stars 2016 National Finals just two days ago.
However, the early exit proved to be painful for them as well as for the hundreds of fans who attended the Invitational live, in addition to the thousands who followed them on stream.
Is This The End of a Dynasty?

Many would expect Macta to disband after such a fall from grace. After all, they have been always winning and fighting at the top of the CrossFire world with a certain level of success.
However, it would do well for them if they stay for another season and try to solve whatever problems they may have. After all, they still have a lot of potential as well as a lot of chances to achieve their goal.
With that being said, Macta finishes last place in the CFS Manila Invitational and goes out of the tournament with $2,000, while Remo Brave went on to fight against China’s All Gamers.
