Pacific.Wara: The Road to Spring

With Wara winning, many people are asking whether they can repeat their spectacular performance in the international circuit a couple of years ago.
Before going into a comprehensive rundown of Pacific.Wara’s capabilities, it is important that we understand the place that they occupy in the history of Philippine CrossFire.
Pacific.Wara started their journey back in 2009, surprising many with their amazing performances and keeping decent head-to-head results against MSIEvoGT towards the later part of their career, MSI was considered to be the strongest Filipino CF team in 2012 and 2013, with Jupiter Mars “ELGEE” Gaboy providing hands-on leadership and loads of strategies to beat even the Chinese on their own soil.
In the first two editions of the CrossFire Stars Grand Finals in 2014, Wara were the ones representing the country until they have been trumped by an aim-heavy lineup under Pacific.Macta. Wara always went to the playoffs of the Grand Finals; at one point, they even finished fourth place in a competition that composed of teams such as Brazil’s paIN, Vietnam’s Freedom Gaming and China’s Modern.
Now that they are back after a hard-fought National Finals series, they get another shot at regaining their old days as one of the world’s strongest CrossFire teams.

What can they offer?
Pacific.Wara is known for creating specific counter-strategies against the teams that they face; even though they are arguably lacking when it comes to aim duels and pickoff power, they can destabilize enemy setups through their quick executes and flash entries, which they actually used against erstwhile rivals Pacific.Macta on maps such as Mexico and Port
With that being said, Wara should do their best to learn and master Port, Ankara and Black Widow if they are to be able to make an impact beyond the group stages of the tournament.

Can they win?
It is not easy for them to get to the playoffs. Simply put, they must place their full effort from the beginning of the tournament and hope that they get a favourable draw in the playoffs.
However, in the world of games, nothing is impossible.
Who knows, maybe a big story is coming to your screens at this year’s competition.
