CFGI 2018 should have been an unforgettable tournament for Team Carbon and their fans.
For the first time, Carbon has advanced to the final in the CROSSFIRE International tournament.
During the tournament, many fans should have seen an unfamiliar player during the matches, Kaiz is a new face who recently joined Carbon as a professional player.
For those who are curious about Kaiz, here is a short interview with his team, Carbon and himself.
1. [To. Carbon] How do you feel about the overall result of CFGI 2018?
We are happy that we beat such a legendary team like AG and got to play in the finals, but at the same time, we are not satisfied with 2nd place. We are a bit embarrassed because we put up such a weak fight in the finals, but in the next finals, we will not play so scared!
2. [To. Kaiz] CFGI was your first international LAN match, how did you feel? How did you prepare for the matches?
I was very nervous and excited that I was able to compete against some of my favorite players in the world such as Q9.Bean and PM.Revenge. I prepared by changing my playstyle to a more aggressive one, and it worked out because people did not expect me to push them with a sniper.
3. [To. Kaiz] When did you start playing CROSSFIRE? Why did you decide to become a CROSSFIRE pro?
I started playing crossfire when I was 10 and took a break when I was in high school. However, I decided to come back to the game when I saw the videos of CFS (Crossfire Stars) and decided that I want to become a professional crossfire player and win CFS!
4. [To. Kaiz] Can you tell us a little about the team atmosphere at Carbon as the new member? Did you already know each other in person?
The atmosphere at Carbon is great! Everyone is super nice and helpful towards me as a new member to the team. Whenever I feel nervous my teammate xfam0usx would always try to boost my confidence and make me feel better.
No, CFGI was my first time meeting everybody on the team!
5. [To. Kaiz] Your performance in the group stage was very impressive, what do you think your strengths are?
I think my strengths was that nobody knew who I was and therefore I was able to catch a lot of players off guard with my playstyle.
6. [To. Kaiz] How did you feel about the opponent teams in CFGI 2018? (Including the group stage and the finals)
It was an honor to be able to play with all these players that I look up to and I think every team played very well. During group stage, all the games were very close except for a few upsets but every team played very well. During the semi-finals, I feel like our opponent AG (All Gamers) were overconfident with their lead and allowed us to catch up winning the last two maps in the series. However, during the finals our opponent PM (Pacific Macta) over-powered us and played out of their minds.
7. [To. Kaiz] Do you have any memorable episodes from the CFGI 2018?
Yes, the golden round of semi-finals was very memorable to me. Because whoever wins goes to grand-final and we were able to pull it through. That was probably the most exciting match I played at CFGI 2018.
8. [To. Kaiz] Are there any regrets or something that you want to fix regarding your performance in CFGI?
Yes, I regret with how I played in the Grand-finals. I wasn't playing like I want to win which resulted of me playing poorly and if I could change anything in my life, I would choose to play that match against Pacific Macta again.
9. [To. Kaiz] Can you share your personal goal and ambition this year?
My personal goal this year would have to become the best sniper in the world and win CFS with my teammates that have helped me grow as a player!
10. [To. Carbon] Which teams do you think will advance to the CFS Grand Finals?
Mzin is back on SV, so you can always predict that they will make it to the finals, but the other team is much harder to predict. I hope it will be us, but all of the other regions also have a great team
11. [To. Carbon] Please give a word to your fans.
Thank you so much for your support throughout CFGI! We could not have achieved this result without you guys and I hope that you continue to support our team in CFS. We will practice many hours so we can show our strength in CFS! 加油Carbon! #goCarbon!
