CFS 2016 Supporter – 2nd mission
CF Talent
Find professional CROSSFIRE teams/players and put them on the spot.
It’s August and this month it’s all about analyzing famous and well known crossfire players. In order to analyze a player I’m going to take a look on general facts which I’m going to list. Besides that I’m trying to figure out specific play methods, character trades and individual strategies. Therefore I’ve investigated various platforms like Youtube which is my main source and furthermore I try to behold social media like Instagram or Facebook.
Speaking about famous, today’s analysis is about the American crossfire player “xfam0usx” J

Jonathan Holland is one of the most known crossfire players all over the world just as one of the best. He started crossfire back then in 2009 and opened his youtube channel recently after his CF career started. We saw fam0us in various national cups and competitions as well as international with his team carbon and he is still active in the competitive scene. You can find numerous public clips and fragshows on his youtube channel which I will link at the end.
As I just mentioned I’m going to analyze video content from which it’s always hard to precisely tell how a player acts, simply because of the fact that most clips are ingame highlights. Therefore I’m going to distinguish between some public clips and cup/CFS content.
I’ve chosen different video content by xfam0usx

Analysis
Looking at xfam0usx as player I’d say it isn’t that much of a deal to analyze him and his personal play style. The reason I say that is because there’s a lot of information about him, simply because of his personal content going on in youtube etc. and as well there is Jonathan’s long time in crossfire which makes him even more popular as well as capable for observation. On the other hand there are individual new tactics in certain matches which can not be predicted as such. Going into detail with common action done by him, we see famous with an amazing head-aim in every conceivable situation. I’m not saying precise crosshair placement isn’t common for other players, of course it is but they way xfam0usx uses his mouse and weapon in crossfire is very unique and uncommon. I’ve watched his tutorials for sniping, crosshair placement and specific tactics when I started playing the game and they were really helpful. If we take a look on his TDM’S (linked) for example on the map Egypt, we see Jonathan picking up numerous kills in a row and very limited time with his M4A1 rifle. If we look even closer we see him flicking his mouse in regular intervals, switching from enemy to another enemy head real quick. He doesn’t even try to spray them down with his rifle instead he goes for the straight headshot and some burst shots with his gun. Speaking about spraying, xfam0usx is one of the players with the best weapon control, at least in my opinion. He is able to control his shots on various distances and situations in order to use them to his advantage. Depending on which weapon he’s using, either AK47 or M4A1 it’s sort of determining his way of playing. What I mean is that the AK47 is more likely his “spraying weapon” for heavy gunfire. The next thing that has to be mentioned is his way of predicting and picking enemies up. He himself ironically brags with the words “peek me” and “peek me bro” which in fact means that he wants the opponent to push him and run into his crosshair and bullets. In my opinion that makes more or less sense because he got the abilities and confidence to use that method with prefire and so on. This particular confidence also proves in certain competitive games and matches like the crossfire stars games were famous impresses with pushes and an excellent control within the middle area of each map. So he works perfect as a leader role and integrates himself in the team communication and participation which is one of team carbons attitudes. Even though the team couldn’t manage to win a major tournament by now they’ve still proven themselves in the world wide crossfire competitive scene and dominate the north American nationals with famous as an influencing factor. As a Supporter for analysis I’m always trying to do my best with game analysis and also to bring in my personal knowledge about specific topics. In my opinion it doesn’t make any sense to analyze particular games in total when were speaking about one single player (in this case xfam0usx) so I just try to characterize the players as good as I can without watching a whole match. I couldn’t name any general crucial mistakes in Jonathan’s play just because everybody got a different opinion on this topic and it is just normal that also professional players like fam0us have good and worse days. Therefore it is less important to focus on general mistakes, unlike in specific team analysis. With that said I’d like to sum up everything said about xfam0usx. Confident, strong aim, clever and experienced … - that’s fam0us as player and you will recognize the trades and facts I’ve mentioned above in the upcoming matches, on his youtube or even if you play against him.
