Hello Guys,

Winter time is coming closer day by day and so does crossfire stars 2016 ....
As most of you should know there is another major tournament besides CFS taking part from October 15th to 16th - The CROSSFIRE STARS INVITATIONAL! It's the second time launching this specific tournament after CFSI Brazil and it will be held in Manila, Phillipines.

You can find the tournament overview here -> http://www.crossfirestars.com/event_201609/us.php

The Phillipines have always been part in the crossfire competitive scene and are mostly known for their representative in certain crossfire stars events - Pacific Macta!
As the phillipines have their own version of the game there are obviously more influencing teams and players that round off the national e-Sport scene.
I've already analyzed various crossfire stars 2015 matches in which Pacific Macta took part, therefore I'm going to focus on one of their key players - Christian "Revenge" Amores

Just for formalities, Macta's lineup again (hasn't changed yet)

Dennis "Bayo" Ramos
Christian "Revenge" Amores
Aldrin "Aldrin" Borabon
Mark "Kram" Chan
John "zYk" Alde

Analysis

Speaking about snipers in crossfire or even in any type of fps multiplayer games, these type of players are indispensable in various reasons. Each team has or at least should have a sniper role in their lineup, just because sniper players fulfill the purpose of taking out enemies with 100 percent precision on long distance. The interaction between rifle players and sniper players within the team in one of the key aspects for a unified and successful game play and the group relies on the sniper who got their back. However, focusing on Revenge as a player, one has to consider that he's known for being the phillipines best sniper player or in my opinion much more one of crossfire's top three snipers worldwide (unknown players are unobserved in this opinion). As a result there is a huge amount of pressure on his back because he's a superstar in the regional CF community and of course people and fans want to see him rise and shine in every game. I'm a player and follower of the e-Sports community myself and throughout my entire time I was watching Revenge play in CFS, I can totally confirm his so called rise and shine. He's the type of player to not risk anything but he's always there when he is needed for his team. Going into detail with this point, what I mean is that Revenge isn't the kind of guy to challenge his enemies. He rather acts in the background and helps his team with one or two kills each round (ideal case). Because he's playing the sniper, he got the overview of certain points of the map and he might see enemies crossing from one to another spot and that's when his reactions and precision are demanded. Secondly he has the job to give calls, which he has proven couple of times in CFS where we saw Revenge screaming and calling loudly. This is all theoretical stuff but let's take a closer look on some examples. I've decided to choose Mexico, which commonly isn't a typical sniper map if you will, because the map itself isn't much open and has many corners and boxes.

The alley passage which leads to the A Spot is a frequently used area on Mexico.
Enemies sneak by and try to conquer in order to plant the C4. Apparently the is just this narrow passage and that's where Revenge tries to strike. In most of the cases teams would position there sniper within the map's middle near the quad boxes but Macta's sniper is playing on the A Spot looking onto Alley. Also Revenge is flexible to move around on A which allows him to even zoom into mid and pick up enemies.

Besides Mexico there are other existing maps like Black Widow, Port, Sub Base [...] where he has to play his role and in most cases the sniper will control the mid area of the map. I'm just trying to say that he is really flexible when it comes to positioning and playing on these positions because sometimes a team has to adjust their positions depending on the enemy.

As an experienced sniper player he's trying to play safe and avoid mistakes which possibly lead to a loss. That's why you see Revenge scoping a long time and not using the so called "quick scope". Of course this is also depending on the situation and if he's forced to use his weapon in a close up fight his quick scope is on point. For situations like this he's also able to use his handgun which he relies on and is really strong with.

I've personally never seen Revenge playing with a rifle in his hand because as a matter of fact this guy is into his weapon (AWM) and in addition to this, he's playing with his team for +3 years now and that's why he doesn't need to. Summing up I'd like to say that Christian is one of crossfire's best sniper players who really "lives and loves" his gun and role. I'm looking forward to see some great shots in the next CFS in December.
